Our guest speaker is Dr Laurel Jackson, Director Postgraduate Education, Sydney Graduate School of Management.
Laurel holds a PhD in Management and Marketing focussed on sustainable, financial development in emerging communities, a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Education from the University of New South Wales. She has twenty years of senior corporate experience in banking and finance prior to joining the university working for AMP, Optus, St George Bank and The development bank of Singapore.
Her current area of research and academic writing is focussed on Green Transformation and helping SMEs to Achieve Climate Neutrality.
Laurel says “The climate crisis is waiting for no one; and the choices we, as SMEs, make over the next few years will have an impact not just on our futures but those of future generations. Avoiding the worst impacts of the climate crisis will require the focus and participation of businesses of all sizes — and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in particular.
Laurel is part of a team at Western Sydney University undertaking research entitled “Green Business Transformation: A Roadmap towards Environmental Sustainability for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)”.
