Born & Brought up in the culturally rich heritage lands of India , I moved to Australia in 2005 . My educational background is graduation in Physics, Chemistry , Mathematics , Masters in Business Adminstration . I started my career with multinational Telecoms in product and brand development but I have always loved food , meeting up with different people as well as creating and innovating with ingredients and hence working in hospitality was the perfect answer for combining my passion of food together with my love for meeting new people . Alkalizer was conceptualised with an aim to provide a way to help people achieve a healthy lifestyle and when developing the business plan , the only place I could envision establishing the flagship store was in Campbelltown as it’s my home , my heart , my love. Alkalizer’s philosophy is to create balance and infuse positive energy through its various offerings - Alkaline water , speciality coffee , range of gourmet teas , chocolates , and nutritionally planned menus demonstrating that meals can be healthy yet scrumptious. Alkalizer offers the community of Macarthur services of cafe , restaurant , catering, high teas along with the latest addition - the launch of the dinner service on Friday’s and Saturdays “Alkalizer at Dusk” . Alkalizer is a multi award winning institution which constantly supports the local community and various charity organisations and causes in Macarthur.

What inspires you in either personal life or in business?

“Love for people” and I can now say with pride in particular for the Community of Campbelltown , combined with love for health and innovation is the passion that drives me in personal and business life .

What’s your greatest achievement?

As a little girl ,I used to visit the deaf and blind school for kids in my hometown with my grandmother to provide kids with home cooked meals or necessities. The resilience of those children and their capability to smile through all the adversities would amaze me and give me strength . I always thought if I would ever get an opportunity to do something in life , I would try and contribute back to the institute . In late 2016 , Alkalizer opened its door in our beautiful city of Campbelltown and ever since all profits from sale of Alkalized water have been donated back to the institute in various forms. I feel grateful towards the ongoing support of my community to be able to work towards this cause.

My business South West Sydney Virtual Assistant was created in 2015. Having been in the corporate world for over 17 years and having started a family, I wanted more flexibility to spend time with my kids whilst doing what I loved most. My business provides outsourcing solutions to small to medium sized businesses not only locally but interstate as well. We provide a range of services from Social Media Management, Virtual Reception, Website Management, Customer Service, and more. With the business now based out of offices in Ingleburn the business has grown so much during the past 4 years and we hope to continue to service many businesses in the local region for years to come.

What inspires you in either personal life or in business?

My 2 children are what inspires me. They are the driving force behind me starting my business and to work as hard as I do to support them.

What is your biggest achievement?

Successfully running my business for the past 4 years and supporting other local mums in business in that same time with Start Up Mum, a mum specific networking group designed to help educate mums working from home with new tools to use in their business whilst doing so in a child friendly environment. Along with this successfully running a Micro Business Expo each year in conjunction with Campbelltown Council which has grown with each year we do this.

I am born and bread Campbelltown, going to Ruse primary, Leumeah high, and then Campbelltown TAFE for my trade and subsequent management training. I've alway been in hospitality/events in one form or another. Completing my apprenticeship I then went on to do a diploma hospitality management, cert 4 training and assessment and a TESOL course which saw me live in China for a year teaching english as a second language! I've worked in England for 2 years as sous chef of a gastro pub in London before moving to country Oxford. I've owned Bar Centrale for 3 years now, growing it from a great little cafe with big dreams on the main street of our town, into an amazing place for community and connection. We offer breakfast lunch and dinner (with a liquor license), corporate and private function catering, staff for events, meeting spaces, and meal planning for busy people that still want to eat real, not bulk commercialised food.

Inspires me?

Joining the chamber was a kickstarter to my understanding of -connection cultivation collaboration . The networks, friends and business partners I have met in my time with you lot has helped me to see so much more good in our town just outside the main city. I see the potential the whole macarthur area has, and love when I am able to work with other business, not for profit and government agency to make our part of town better and better. Every day I am amazed by the support and guidance and love we have, not just for our locals but for everyone and every where. This I what keeps me going.

Biggest achievement?

I couldn't name just 1! Just buying the cafe was massive, but then we add the most inclusive employer, business person of the year awards to that, nomination for Australia day citizen of the year, being selected for many high profile events including the up coming world homeless dinner. Being voted onto your board! But also seeing my staff and colleagues grow and reap the rewards of their training, networking and gain success from that too! Knowing that a simple chat in the cafe with people, can turn into a connection with other services that inspired people to WALK TO CANBERRA and have their stories heard and hopefully make a better life for all, not just our business, our customers but the whole area!
